Green Angels is the Land Trust’s free environmental training programme, delivered at sites across England. It’s designed to help you learn new skills, build confidence, meet people, and make a positive difference in your community. Our courses cover topics such as wildlife conservation, landscaping, environmental education and more.
Green Angels is open to anyone aged 18 or over. We prioritise places for people who live locally to the site where the course is taking place.

Yes, you’re welcome to attend multiple different courses. However, you won’t be able to attend the same course more than once.
Yes, all Green Angels courses are completely free to attend. They are funded through external funding, which allows us to offer them at no cost to participants.
In some cases, we may be able to offer support towards travel costs. If you think you might need this, please let us know we’ll do our best to help.
If you’re unable to attend, please let your Green Angels contact know as soon as possible. We understand that things come up just keep us informed.
We work with a range of experienced local trainers and specialists, depending on the course topic.
Some sites have toilet facilities available. Where this isn’t possible, we plan sessions carefully to make sure everyone’s comfort and wellbeing is supported.
You won’t receive a formal qualification, but you will get a Green Angels certificate of attendance. Many participants find this helpful for CVs, job applications, and personal development.
Most Green Angels courses are designed for adults aged 18+, so they’re not suitable for children. However, we do sometimes offer family‑friendly activities, which will be clearly advertised.
No, no previous experience is needed. Our courses are designed to be welcoming and accessible to everyone.
We offer a range of activities, from relaxed to more active. You can take part at your own pace. There’s no pressure to do anything you’re not comfortable with.
Courses vary depending on the programme. You might take part in one‑day workshops, weekly sessions over 4–6 weeks or a guided walks or shorter activities. Full details are always provided before you sign up.
You don’t need any specialist equipment. We recommend comfortable outdoor clothing, weather‑appropriate layers and sturdy footwear. We’ll send you a full kit list before your course starts.
