Are you passionate about wildlife? Do you want to find new ways in which you can make room for wildlife in your green space? Would you like to learn from experts about how to grow your own food? During this six-week course topics covered range from composting, habitat creation, wildlife identification and so much more!
Adult bushcraft and survival skills (2 day course)
Have you ever wanted to learn what it would take to survive in the wild? Do you fancy learning a new skills that could save your life!!?
Then give our BUSHCRAFT AND SURVIVAL SKILLS COURSE a go!
You will learn useful and practical techniques for survival in the wild such as, shelter building, water purification and fire lighting. You will get the chance to practice and perfect them over the two days.
Ash Splint Basketry
Ash splint is an amazing material: soft, flexible, and easy to work with. This makes it perfect for creating strong, beautiful baskets. It is a relatively unknown craft in the UK. During this 2-day workshop, you'll learn all about ash splint and weave your own fruit basket to take away No previous experience is necessary. You'll learn progressively in a small group which means there's lots of help available.

Dry Stone Bench
Get out in the fresh air and learn new skills to build an important feature that defines the British landscape. This FREE course will teach you the basic principles of the craft and you will work with others to build a new snake bench at the nature reserve. Adults of all ages and abilities are welcome and encouraged to apply
Dry Stone Walling
This course will teach you the basic principles of the craft and you will work with others to continue the final stretch of wall. All courses are practical, delivered outdoors - some degree of physical fitness is required. Topics covered range from site surveying and planning, stone preparation and differentiation, wall structure, laying and finishing techniques and tool handling.

Learn to mow with a traditional scythe! This course uses practical skills and learning-by-doing to provide people with the knowledge and experience to continue scything on their own. Topics covered include Features and advantages of the Austrian scythe, how to set up the scythe & adjust the blade. peening (hammering the blade as part of the sharpening process), sharpening in the field, care & maintenance, and comfortable mowing styles for more efficient cutting.
