New Park Springs
Situated in Barnsley, New Park Springs is a revitalised green space with a strong connection to the area’s industrial heritage.
The site was once one of the main spoil heaps for Grimethorpe Colliery, alongside nearby Cudworth Common, with both forming part of the same colliery complex. Following the closure of the mine, the land was restored through the National Coalfields Programme, transforming it into a valuable community and environmental asset.
